What’s the difference between the widget’s remediation and an expert audit?

Updated yesterday

The widget’s remediation is automatic and happens in real time. It scans the website as users interact with it and applies accessibility fixes instantly, such as adding alt text, improving contrast, or enabling keyboard navigation, without changing your website's actual code. Additionally, if the widget encounters an issue that cannot be resolved automatically, it can send alerts to our accessibility team so they can step in and provide manual remediation when needed.

An audit, by contrast, is a manual, in-depth evaluation of your website’s source code and structure. It identifies accessibility barriers and provides a comprehensive report with recommendations for permanent, code-level fixes that your developers can implement.
